What could be a bigger boost to RFID technology when the government of a country takes a big initiative like this?
The foundation stone has been laid for the development of RFID technology in China with the establishment of first national RFID Industrial zone in the major IT hub Zhangjiang, Shanghai.
According to this news, the zone will be the largest RFID industry congregation centre in China. It would produce nearly 500 billion tags annually for different applications, from shopping malls to pork processing system to state-issued documents.
The zone will become the centre for conducting a host of RFID applications and services. Undeniably, the national RFID Industrial centre would help the Chinese government in implementing various plans that call for identity authentication.
