According to sources in China’s Ministry of Information Industry (MII), China is soon going to establish an RFID national standard.
The delay of the standard implementation is a result of one-upmanship between supporting organizations of the three major international RFID standards namely:
a) UbiquitousID,
b) ISO/IEC18000 and
c) EPCGlobal.
Because of this the authorities were not being able to make up their minds about one national standard for RFID.
Anyway, now that China has decided that enough is enough, we can now expect that a choice would be made soon (if it hasn’t already).
