
Impinj said that EPCgloabl Inc, a non-profit organization focused on driving global adoption of the EPC standards for supply chain excellent has approved its Gen 2 RFID Monza Tag Chips and Speedway Readers.
With this approval, Impinj has emerged as the first company to achieve Gen 2 interpretability certification for both tag chips and readers.
A testing firm MET Laboratories has conducted interoperability testing on behalf of EPCglobal as part of an extensive hardware certification and standards compliance program for RFID chips, tags, readers, and printers.
Chirs Adcock, president of EPCglobal said,
The purpose of this program is to enable end users to be confident that the certified hardware products which they implement, will work in predictable ways as defined by EPCglobal standards, such as the UHF Gen 2 Air Interface Protocol Standard.
