UPM Raflatac and Shanghai RFid System Technology have signed an agreement for Rafsec library tags. Together both the companies would be supplying RFid tags to Jimei University library in Xiamen, China. Around 300,000 RFid tags would be delivered under the agreement. This system would help the library automate the borrowing and returning of library items hence reducing theft and queuing time. It would quicken the sorting of library items which would shorten the returning time of items to the shelves. This system would quickly enable to make inventory details by merely passing the RFid reader along the bookshelves. This would be the first large scale implementation of RFid library project in China.
