Honda UK will introduce RFID technology to track the auto components that move across the supply chain. It is believed that Honda’s RFID idea would be the largest UHF RFID deployment in the auto industry.
Honda UK better known as Honda of the UK Manufacturing Ltd (HUM) manufactures around 885 cars every day. It includes the highly appreciated Honda Civic and CR-V. HUM’s auto components move throughout Europe to its manufacturing unit at England and Sweden.
To track these components, HUM will install UHF RFID tags to some 250,000 containers and 100,000 metal cages.
