Boeing for its 787 Dreamliner has chosen Intelleflex Corp. as the exclusive provider of silicon chips that will enable RFID ’smart labels’ on maintenance.
In its ambitious Dreamliner project, Boeing has wisely chosen RFID tags as RFID tags help reduce maintenance and inventory costs by providing detailed, electronic part tracking information.
The Dreamliner, you may recall is a colossal machine that has millions of different parts.
Before that, Boeing has successfully evaluated passive RFID smart labels on a FedEx MD-10 Freighter.
