According to IDTechEx, a knowledge-based company focused on RFID technology, the use of the RFID tags will increase steadily and would dominate the RFID market.
The company reports that about 200 million tags will be used this year. Especially, the item-level tagging in apparel, books and drugs is boosting the tag business.
The tag business will dominate the entire RFID market by the end of 2007. In terms of value, it would be the world’s largest RFID market. Along with other RFID components, Tags will clock $11 billion in business out of the total $26 billion RFID market in 2016.
The steady growth of tag business would attract the manufacturers to invest thier resources to take advantage of the market conditions.
