Jena University Hospital’s effort to provide better healthcare services to the patients got a major boost with the agreement to deploy RFID solutions of SAP. The announcement came at the International Forum of Healthcare held in Frankfurt, Germany.
Now, the leading healthcare unit of Germany will function on SAP NetWeaver platform, which provides result oriented RFID services. The hospital will use the RFID solutions of SAP to identify, track and match medication accurately and real time locations of hospital’s pharmacy. Jena hospital has decided to use passive tags to monitor 24 beds initially. Then, it will extend the RFID tags to another 65 treatment units.
Krish Mantripragada, Global Program Director, SAP stated,
The RFID project at Jena University Hospital is a perfect example of a growing number of innovative applications of RFID that go beyond the retailer and government mandates to drive real business value.
