Louisville- based Lantech, world’s largest manufacturer of stretch wrapping, shrink packaging and palletizing systems has joined hands with Symbol Technologies to add RFID tag-reading capability as the best option on all of its semiautomatic pallet stretch wrappers.
As part of the RFID program, Symbol would provide its RD5000 mobile RFID interrogator on the moving head of Lantech stretch-wrappers.
The RD5000 mobile RFID reader carries a built-in antenna and communicates with a local area network wirelessly. It runs on battery power.
William Caudill, the company’s marketing manager for automatic products said,
We are now offering this system as a standard option on all our turntable stretch-wrapping systems and will migrate quickly to our overhead straddle stretch wrappers, as well.
