Kyoto- based global automation giant Omron has launched its much-awaited Gen2 Global Loop inlay, which will operate under North American, European and Japanese RF bands in a single tag design.

The latest inlay would enhance the reading ability of a tag when it is embedded to items containing materials that are unfriendly to RFID technology. It includes different kinds of electronic equipment and products with high moisture content.

Besides it, Omron Loop tag will provide result oriented read ranges when the orientation on the product is not fixed and changeable after application. Therefore, the Loop inlay will improve pallet tag read rates.

Bill Arnold, the chief strategist at Omron RFID said,

If a company uses the Omron global inlay, then it has no need to handle the complexity of different tag selection for each region or SKU requirement. This means our Gen2 global loop inlays help to reduce total RFID tag application costs and operation time.

Based on EPC standard, the Omron’s Gen2 Loop can be implemented with all international UHF RFID frequencies from 860 to 960MHz with enriched reading performances.
