
What RFID is doing these days is no less than a science fiction. Out of simple curiosity, (not a pundit in it) started writing this blog and everyday the sheer development around the world takes me by surprise. Today’s surprise is how RFID going to match the personality (what is that, I mean how do you define pure psychological stuff? And how the hell science gonna differ personality I’ve simply no clue) and astrological signs to boost in-store shopping. Think. Just the possibilities.

Japanese customers by simply showing their RFID mobile phone straps or customer loyalty cards will get incentives which are if not tailormade but certainly customized and earmarked for them. So, I can presume that a person like me who hates gore violence and ping pong colors will never get a violent video game console as a loyalty gift. Rather I may be selected for a Singing in the Rain CD in this summer. OK, so that’s what they are talking about personalized loyalty programs.
The solution is already running in Shanghai and 10,000 customers are given RFID smart tags to use it in store.
