According to the market research firm Research and Markets, the %u2018RFID in hospital market%u2019 boom to an unprecedented 8.8 billion dollars in the next 4 years.
Titled study report titled ‘RFID & Emerging Technologies Guide to Healthcare’, says that RFID and its related technologies in the hospital marketplace will reach $8.8 billion by 2010; and that it will be segmented into three general categories:
a) RFID Driven Revenue: Hardware and software integration $1.3 billion.
b) Infrastructure Support for RFID Enablement: Wireless networks–$1.3 billion, Enterprise-related software — $1.4 billion.
c) Hospital Connectivity: $4.8 billion.
