The Intermission Bar of University of Westminster is now a different environment for the students who go there for a drink. They need not to stand in a long queue, pick up a fight with their friends or make a shout for the drinks. The bartender would serve them just at the scroll on the screen. So many changes in the bar, guess why?
The University of Westminster has introduced six new RFID tables where pop-up screens allow students to ask for drinks directly from their seats. These tables work like an IM-like system, can be tilted up to 45 degrees, and rotated 360 degrees.
The unique system is that students can scroll through the list of drinks using the screens and select their favorite drinks. The information would be sent to the bar using Ethernet over power line. To operate this system, Intermission Bar employed two sets of staff. One group would serve the drinks ordered from the RFID tables and another set to look after the bar.
