Just imagine the situation- you are in a shopping center to purchase gifts, gadgets, cloths or anything else you like. You will be shocked to know that RFID technology would know which products you like to purchase, which products have attracted you most and which one the least. It would be happening very fast because the shelves inside the stores would be embedded with RFID tags.
Japanese companies DNP, Tana-X and SEARS have joined forces to bring out an intelligent shelving system, which would track information based on consumers’ behavior inside a store.
The Engadget adds,
Information is also gathered on the kinds of products individuals purchase together (i.e. a PSP and a UMD in the same trip), and strategically located “POP” machines conveniently give detailed descriptions about scanned items to customers, while sneakily collecting data of its own for those oh-so-clever marketers behind the scenes.
However, it is not known which countries will conduct the primary testing in December this year.
