Counterfeit Viagra is hitting Pfizer’s bottomline and the company has installed custom Radio Frequency Identification Tag to the Vagra shipments in the United States. With this expensive anti piracy move Pfizer feels it will combat the ever increasing piracy. The company spokesperson says this new technology will act as a barrier to the criminals who try to duplicate the act.



Everyone important in the supply chain be it the pharmacists or the wholesalers will use specifically used designed electronic scanners that communicate the code over the internet to a secure Pfizer website. The small invisible tags transmit an electronic verification code that identifies whether the product is authentic or not.
