The United Kingdom’s Ministry of Defense by the end of this year plans to launch enhanced radio frequency identification tags containing a small battery which will emit signals that increases the range of readability and the data storage capacity. These RFID tags are called “active” tags and are different than “passive” chips that only track individual items from a close range. Here, in the case of “active” tags this can be readable from more than 100 feet and also defense department by using these tags can keep a track of large batches of equipment more easily.
