We have already discussed about the IBM and T3Ci’s mutual agreement to develop software for the use in supply chain management. North America- based Pot-Noodle-to-Persil packed goods giant Unilever is ready to test that new standard. The new standard will make convenient for retailers and manufacturers to share data produced by the RFID tags.



The company clarifies that it will undertake a trail on the Electronic Product Code Information Services (EPCIS) standard to query RFID data provided by retailers.



James Jackson, Unilever IT vice president says the EPCIS standards will meet the pressing need to allow sharing of data among trading partners and simplify interoperability between different RFID applications, data stores and product information management systems.



Unilever would enhance promotion management, supply chain visibility and RFID readability by using IBM and T3Ci reports and analysis.
