The Australian Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs (DIMA) has selected Viisage in order to improve overall security in more than 25 Australian overseas locations around the globe. Viisage will provide its Viisage iA-thenticate Smart Chip and RFID Electronic Document Reader services to DIMA. With this, the leading RFID service provider has gained third consecutive contracts from the Australian government.
DIMA has determined to eliminate terrorist activities. For which it will check identity document such as passports, visas and national IDs, which most of times the terrorist hold illegally. Vissage’s automated document authentication technology will assist DIMA in achieving its goal. DIMA is now well equipped to trace out illegal travel documents presented at the Australian embassies globally.
